Effect of acupuncture for IBS relief
Acupuncture has shown promising results for patients suffering from refractory Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). A recent study published in the journal Frontiers of Medicine revealed that patients receiving real acupuncture experienced significant improvements in symptom severity, including reduced abdominal pain and discomfort. Compared to sham acupuncture, real acupuncture was more effective in lowering the IBS Symptom Severity Score (IBS-SSS) and improving quality of life. These findings suggest that acupuncture can be a valuable complementary therapy for IBS, offering additional relief when standard treatments fall short.
